My two year old lab walks perfectly on the leash when I walk her alone. But whenever we walk with other people or dogs she gets overly excited and pulls, lunges, etc. What can I do to get her to walk calmly by my side as she usually does?

I work as a foster for an animal rescue, and one of my dogs was raised by Chinese owners, so all his commands were taught in chinese. Can you translate some basic commands into chinese (with a pronunciation) for me?

Commands I need:

"No"
"Sit"
"Lay Down"
"Come"
"Quiet"

And any others would be EXTREMELY helpful.

Thank you ahead of time!
Use english characters only, please.

My puppy is a springer cross and is 6 months he barks at everything, pulls on the lead and play bites, i was just wondering if anyone can help with training tips, i did buy a couple of puppy training books that we used when we first brought him but he has been really well behaved untill now, so the tips in the books are only for really young dogs. Do dogs normally get like this at 6 months?

Thank you so much for any help!

Do you realize that dogs are carnivorous mammals? NOT fashion accessories or dolls or "fur-babies" or magical/mythical/fantasy beasts?
That ALL dogs shed, drool, eliminate, vomit, scratch, eat, bark, growl, whine, bite?Need to be trained,fed,watered,exercised,cleaned-up after, groomed, vetted, etc. EVERY DAY for years, whether or not you’re busy, bored, sick…?
That there is no such thing as a "best" breed? "Best" for who? "Best" at what? That’s why there are 200+/- breeds;so you can-through research-find a REAL breed,w/a standard & real, responsible people who actually know what they’re talking about regarding that breed?
That there is an AKC show every wk-end across the country where you can see/meet hundreds of breeds & their owners & make an educated choice for what could be a "best" dog for you for the next 15+/- years? So you don’t make an impulse decsion that will hurt all involved?
Did you know?
Thanks for THINKING.

How well did it work for you? How much did you spend on classes?

I’m all set to get a Mini Schnauzer around the beginning of December and I want to bring her up right. I’ve had a Schnauzer before but this will be my first puppy on my own. I was looking at the training classes at PetSmart and I’m curious to know what expieriences (if any) you’ve had with them. I’m open to other suggestions, preferably something with other dogs so she can socialize. I am in the Denver Metro area, FYI, and I am on a budget, so nothing too extravagant! lol Thanks!

I’ve got a lot covered in the off-leash training, I think (any more info would be great!)

But I’m more concerned about how to train my dog to not react to other dogs, and how to go about the training. Do I do the old "yank the chain and say NO" trick at the park until she gets the idea, or is there a better method?

I’m really looking forward to getting my dog off leash where I can so I can take her hunting and give her a little more freedom, but I really want to do this right. HELP?!?!?

I would like to teach my dog some cool trick such as dance, roll over, sit, stand, lay down, play dead, and all the other cool tricks dogs can do. I also would like to train my dog to walk with me without a leash, and so on. Does anyone know a really good web-site that is free and provides good training methods? Thanks!
