Hi, I want to use a dog crate just to house train my puppy. Once it’s trained and integrated into the family I’m planing on removing the crate and replacing with a bed. Main reason is space needed for a cage to fit a fully grown Labrador. Is this ok, or will it cause confusion/ anxiety to the dog?

Ever since having my daughter (she’s 6 months old) my dog has been jealous for obvious reasons. Who can blame her? My husband and I do our best to spend time with her and take her out to play but with the baby and working, it’s hard to get "real outside playtime" in. Even though we walk her she still saves up and pees in the house! We’ve laid down wee-wee pads and she’ll go on them for the most part but usually only makes it half-way on the actual pad. She knows better and I know part of this is her showing us she’s upset with us but I’m tired of having to clean up after her in the house almost every day! I can’t afford to take her to training again or to have someone come by and take her out for fun. Unfortunately there are no doggy daycares in my area or I’d leave her there once or twice a week to see if it’d help. Are there any other techniques we can try to help her stop going in the house? Our yard isn’t fenced in, otherwise we’d leave her out there while we’re out!
We trained her as a puppy on the pads so she knows what they’re for but we recently moved from a home with a fenced yard to a home without one (over the summer). So she’s had time to adjust and has adjusted to this kind of change in the past without problems like this. She’s 100lbs so I really don’t have room for a crate that size in my house.

We just moved into a new house and we brought our 2 year old dog with us. At the old house the dog had a doggy door and went outside. In this new house we installed the doggy door, but he doesn’t go outside he pee’s inside. We need a carpet cleaner that will get of old stains (Previous owner had dogs too) and get rid of the odor of the new ones. My second question is, is there any tips in how to re-train my two year old toy poodle.

I have to leave my dog alone for about 7 hours a day and while he is perfect about his house training I hate to make him hold it all day. I was going to get an indoor dog potty just to put out while I am at work but I am afraid it may ruin his house training abilites when it is not availabe. (I was planning on leaving it in the garage when I am home and he can just go outside. Does anyone know if this will have a negative effect on his house training?

I have a 8 month old male cocker spaniel, I can’t get him to stop peeing in one spot in my kitchen! He will go when I let him out, but he won’t "ask" to go outside, I don’t have a dog door right now, but I am saving up to buy one, so maybe that will help. Anyone have any tips for getting a dog to "ask" to go outside??

We have a Yorkshire terrier and he was very hard to potty train, when we get our next dog, I want to do it right or better. Do you have any ideas that were successful in potty training your dog?

Will having a potty training puppy trainee together with a dog who is already house trained help them catch on quicker? How much time do you give your puppy outside when taken out to "potty" My puppy will sometimes start playing, so I just take her back in and try again a little later. Is this the right thing to do?

i live with my brother and my dad and we have had this 4 month old puppy for a few months. for a while he was really good about going out side to pee and poop and we have also been crate training him. i take him out when i get home from class and after he eats and before he goes to bed but in the mornings my dad and brother are the first to get up and that’s when he goes in the house. i have tried house training dogs before and i have not had much luck, i do not know what i am doing wrong.
