My friend has a 2 year old GSD. It’s a boy dog and its very strong.
When they go out for walks at night the dog pulls everywhere, especially when it sees a cat, it wants to chase it, it will pull like crazy and if you weren’t ready for his sudden pull he could pull you over and drag you along while he chases the sound or noise. He once even nearly got crashed by a car when they just tied the leash to his collar and just got out the gate, he just leapt over and did a sudden pull!
If this keeps happening their dog will die because… It might get crashed by the car…
Any suggestions on how to solve the pulling problem as well as cat chasing/bird chasing/leaf chasing.
It gets very annoying trying to stop him, they just say sternly, "No." and they pull him away.
They have tried one of those head leashes when the dog wears something around the muzzle so you can control the head, but the dog refuses to wear it.

Have an 8 week old pitbull…..just got his leash and collar yesterday. At first, he wouldn’t even walk with the damn thing on – lol stubborn ass would just not move. But anyway, he moves freely now, a little hesitant some times, but its only the second day.

My problem is, when he does start walking, he always cuts me off!!! Its the most annoying thing ever. He just doesn’t walk in a straight line, he just walks on the side of me, and cuts my feet off. I have to extend my arm with the leash just so he doesn’t cut me off. But that makes walking more difficult.

Any suggestions?

Should i just step on him one good time to teach him a lesson lol j/k i know thats cruel….lol but thats why i’m here asking for advice.

I have an alaskan sled dog(a generic term for a mutt with some husky somewhere in my dog’s case). I’d really like to be able to walk her off-leash, but I’m not sure how to train her to do that. She’s gotten good about coming when I call her to me, but what’s the next step? Any other training tips? Thanks!

We adopted a small dog that looks like a Chihuahua. He is very shy and we think his previous owners abused him. Any ways he does absolutely nothing just sits all day long. So when it comes time to go out side and walk him, again he does nothing. I don’t want to drag him I just want him to be able to use the restroom outside and not inside. ( I live in an apartment) He wont use the puppy pads its so useless all he seems to know is to go inside the house and I need to reverse that.

My golden is 5 months old. She is horrible on a leash. I want her to become used to it and we’ve had her on it every day for 3 months. I want her to learn to heel. She will barely go 2 feet. She will walk to go potty and then wants to turn around and come home. And pulls me and leads me to the door. Any feedback would be great.

I have 3 year old beagle/German shepherd mix. He like to chase after small animals and other dogs. When ever genus off leash, he runs away. How can I train him to be off leash without chasing any thing or run away? Detailed answers please!

We have aquired 2 sled dogs, from a deceased family member friend, we love dogs and were wondering if we could leash train these two sled dogs and not ruin their pulling(we think dog sledding would be fun) we will probably use a prong collar just for training.
